We are looking for cross sectional experienced HCPC registered Radiographer to join the MRI team at the Royal London Hospital.This post will give you the opportunity to build on your clinical expertise in MRI. Encouragement will be given to staff who wish to pursue post graduate studies in MRI.
We provide a service to a wide range of routine and emergency patients. The Division also has responsibility for the EDC (Early Diagnostic Centre) at Mile End Hospital, with the MRI unit having been opened in October 2022.
You will need to demonstrate post graduate experience in cross-sectional imaging. The post holder will be involved in training of rotational radiographers in MRI , review and implementation of new scanning protocols in conjunction with the MRI Lead radiographer, MRI superintendent radiographer, MRI clinical specialist, Radiologists and ensuring all staff are aware of the new studies/procedures.It is essential to have good organisational skills, good working relationships and be motivated and able to demonstrate how you can motivate others within the team.
The aim of this role is to provide high quality, effective Imaging services for the MRIdepartment at Royal London Hospital.
The post holder will work closely with radiographers, students and clinical staff of all gradesin the safe, prompt and effective imaging of inpatients and outpatients.
MRI is an extremely complex modality requiring a high degree of technical understanding toobtain diagnostic image quality in a wide range of patient presentations.Skill is required in helping patients to cope with the claustrophobic nature of the MRIenvironment.
Patients may present unconscious, un-cooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, or withphysical and mental disabilities. Some may exhibit anti-social or threatening behaviour. It isnecessary to provide empathy and emotional support to the bereaved, terminally ill, injuredand traumatised.
Post holder will be expected to participate in the 24hrs, 7days/week, 365 days a year MRI on-call service for which they will be paid via the AFC out of hours pay rates and is operated on a rota system.
The candidate will be required to work full time on long days rostered across the 7 days Monday-Sunday 08:00-20:00. The post is based at the Royal London Hospital and also expected to cover other Hospital sites although this might be in very rare occassions.
