The role of a Diabetes Specialist Nurse at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust involves joining the diabetes nurse team across Trafford, Wythenshawe, and Withington hospitals. This position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including diabetes consultants, podiatrists, dietitians, and primary care professionals, to provide comprehensive support and education to patients living with diabetes. The nurse will be responsible for offering expert advice, coordinating patient care for continuity, conducting clinical audits to improve care standards, and delivering educational programs for both patients and staff. Candidates should possess knowledge in diabetes management and clinical leadership, and ideally hold qualifications as accredited diabetes educators or be willing to pursue this training.
