Interested in a career in child health, but not ready to commit to run through training?

GOSH has ST1-3 equivalent Fellow posts offering great experience in a well-supported environment. These posts offer unique clinical experience with our specialist surgical teams, who care for complex patients with multiple medical needs and is backed up by a formal Level 1 teaching programme delivered in association with the London School of Paediatrics.

The posts commence in November 2024 with a chance to gain up to 3 months experience in Plastics Surgery.

These posts are ideal for doctors completing foundation or core training who wish to gain further specialist paediatric experience, as well as those wishing to pursue a career in paediatric surgical specialities. Successful candidates will be educationally supervised and given the opportunity to complete appropriate research projects, as well as attending postgraduate courses inside and outside the trust.

For more information contact Mr Amir Sadri, consultant plastics surgeon via email If you have any queries, please contact us via email at quoting the above reference.

All applicants should complete application forms on TRAC.

Successful applicants will work in Plastics Surgery

The vast majority of time will be spent working within the parent speciality during any given six-month period, but post holders would be expected to cross cover other specialities when required.

There is inevitable variation in the pattern of work between departments, but the post holders will be responsible for the admission and ward management of elective cases including preparation for theatre and post-operative care. They are expected to be available to assist in theatre during operation lists and to be available to be trained as appropriate. The Trust does not have an Accident and Emergency department but there are regular emergency admissions.

All junior staff have the opportunity to attend Outpatient clinics. Doctors in training receive support and supervision from both the surgical and general paediatric consultants in the care of the complex inpatient population.

Most posts have an out of hours commitment with a full shift rota. All SHOs are expected to cross cover as needed on inpatient wards and activities across paediatric surgical specialties of paediatric general surgery, urology, orthopaedics, ENT and plastic surgery.

We will provide a comprehensive induction programme prior to commencement of clinical duties. This is a Postgraduate Teaching Hospital. A significant number of medical students, Postgraduate Registrars in training and Senior Clinical Fellows are attached for varying periods.
