The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Reporting Sonographer to join their Maternity & Gynaecology Department in Reading. The role involves performing and reporting ultrasound scans for obstetrics and gynaecology, including various types of examinations such as nuchal translucency, anomaly, and early pregnancy scans. Applicants must have a PG certificate in medical ultrasound from a CASE accredited institution, though those not meeting all essential criteria may be considered for a developmental Band 6 to Band 7 role. Responsibilities also include formulating clinical reports, making appropriate referrals, communicating findings to patients, and training student sonographers.

In this position, the Sonographer will work independently at the main hospital site and satellite units, utilizing advanced clinical judgment for decision-making and encouraging service development. The role requires participation in out-of-hours work and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times. Additional duties may also be assigned by the Lead Practitioner/Manager as needed.
