MULTI-DISCIPLINARY NEONATAL
The role of "Advanced Pharmacist, Paediatrics" at Northampton General Hospital is a one-year fixed-term position focused on enhancing paediatric care within the Child Health department. The pharmacist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing specialized services such as prescribing and neonatal and paediatric parenteral nutrition, while supporting governance processes through guideline development. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Child Health team to improve care quality, benchmarking current services, identifying cost-saving initiatives, and quantifying patient safety enhancements. The role requires prior experience in paediatrics and involves leading the development of medicine-related guidelines and auditing practices.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the advanced pharmacist will have management duties, including supervising staff, identifying training needs, and ensuring compliance with service standards. The position emphasises optimizing medication use, providing expert advice to consultants, and supporting the integration of new medicines into the Trust. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding pharmacy services within the Child Health directorate, contributing to a dynamic and supportive Pharmacy community.
