You will be expected to process incoming and outgoing calls quickly and politely being able to deal with emergency situations in a calm and responsible way. Telephone duties include management of future, on the day and urgent appointments, booking home visits and ambulances, dealing with test results, and answering general queries including speaking to other Health Care professionals.
Computerised System (SystmOne) for up to 30 Health Professionals. Booking future, on the day and urgent appointments. Issuing of repeat prescriptions, including Repeat Dispensing and Electronic Prescribing (EPS) also dealing with patient's prescription queries. Excellent communication skills are essential for meeting and greeting patients with a required friendly approach and dealing with their queries. Responsibility to ensure that Reception and waiting room areas are kept neat and tidy at all times.
We are a paper light practice however there is still some routine filing and paperwork involved. This includes retrieving and refilling medical records, along with patient's prescriptions whilst always ensuring that strict alphabetical order is adhered to.
Basic IT literacy/computer skills are essential although on the job training will be given. Tasks include precise data entry for patient registrations, change of address and accurate coding into patient's medical records.
Summarising patients paper records on to the computer system following strict practice protocols.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work without direct supervision whilst prioritising their own workload.
