Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is offering three full-time Senior Clinical Fellow positions in Emergency Medicine and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine for 12 months, starting from August 6, 2025, to August 4, 2026. These roles are not recognized for formal training.
The fellowship is designed for doctors at the ST3/ST4+ level in Emergency Medicine, keen to enhance their skills in prehospital emergency care at the Welsh Major Trauma Centre (University Hospital Wales) and with the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust. The successful applicants will split their time equally between hospital work and prehospital duties, becoming part of a collaborative team of 25 consultants and 13 registrars.
The Welsh Enhanced Care Response Unit is a new initiative aimed at improving emergency care pathways, offering a unique opportunity for fellows to contribute to this development. Candidates should have GMC registration and at least 18 months of relevant UK experience, including specific paediatric and critical care exposure.
This fellowship provides an invaluable opportunity for those looking to advance their prehospital emergency medicine portfolio ahead of National selection processes. A Consultant in PHEM will oversee training and encourage involvement in governance and quality improvement initiatives.
