The Brookvale Practice in Runcorn is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Salaried GP to join their team for 4-6 sessions per week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The practice serves 9,000 patients and has a supportive team of 10 GPs, clinical staff, and administration personnel. Candidates should be committed to quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include conducting consultations (in-person, video, and telephone), managing patient care plans, prescribing medications, and maintaining accurate records. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic forward-thinking GP to join our practice as a Salaried GP working 4- 6 sessions per week over 3 days Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the future of general practice and providing good quality care to our patient population.

Brookvale Practice looks after a population of 9000 patients, we are situated in Runcorn which has close motorway links to Manchester, Liverpool, and North Wales.

Our excellent clinical team consists of 10 GPs , 1 Clinical Pharmacist, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Trainee Nurse Associate , extended clinical ARRS roles including , Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician alongside 2 GPAs with 11 supportive reception and administration staff.

The successful candidate will join our friendly, supportive, innovative team and share our ethos and approach of putting patients first. We are a highly regarded training practice rated as Good by CQC following our inspection visit in November 2023. We use EMIS Web, GPs have 15 min appointments with at least 2 clinicians working on call. We support GPs to develop clinical interests and develop extended roles and we would welcome interest from newly qualified GPs.

About us

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, video consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, ward rounds, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness

In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health

Providing advice and health education

Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards

Collecting data for audit purposes

Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)

Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate

In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
