Band 3: £24,071 to £25,674 a year per annum pro rata  PERMANENT

  • To provide a full and efficient secretarial service for their consultants, nursing team and the wider service. This will include ensuring that all documentation is produced to an excellent standard. Strong proof-reading skills are required.
  • Administrative functions including monitoring patient waiting lists and ensuring compliance with NHS standards.
  • To coordinate and organise the attendance of patients to appointments in line with local team and Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust arrangements as instructed.
  • Effective communication, handling correspondence, liaising with Multidisciplinary teams, and managing telephone and email communications.
  • To contribute to the management of the Consultants and team diary.
  • To work with the team to ensure adequate cover is in place during periods of leave.
  • To maintain electronic patient records in line with Trust policies.
  • Governance adherence, including training and compliance with Trust policies.
  • To assist other secretaries and members of the admin team in the achievement of a quality service.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Secretary/Administrator to join the team at the Centre for Womens Health.

Based on the main Royal Devon and Exeter Wonford site, the post holder will join an established team to provide comprehensive Secretarial/Administration support to three of our Consultant Gynaecologist/Obstetricians.

The post holder will have a range of secretarial and administrative experience, ideally in a Healthcare environment; however, we welcome applicants from other sectors who feel they have relevant transferable skills.

Working in a busy and sometimes demanding job, within a supportive team, they must be a good team player and enjoy working within a Multidisciplinary team. We are looking for someone who is articulate, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise competing workstreams. You should also have strong secretarial or administrative experience, organisational skills and the ability to work without direct supervision.

As the post deals with patients, relatives, and Healthcare professionals, applicants must have excellent communication skills and will be expected to have an empathetic and efficient telephone manner.
