The role is based across Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe General, and Amersham Hospitals. Candidates must have GMC registration and a 'Licence to Practice in the UK.' This is a service provision role, not a training position, requiring the ability to perform independently with 8-10 surgeries per list and conduct up to 5 surgical lists weekly, alongside pre-op assessments and some emergency clinics. Training in managing complex cataract cases is available, and research and audit participation is encouraged. There may also be opportunities for supervising junior trainees. The hospital provides resources like an EyeSi surgical simulator and wet-lab facilities for surgical training.
