Band 5: £29,970 to £36,483 a year pro rata for part time  PERMANENT 
The ability to problem solve, delegate, lead, co-ordinate and manage time effectively.

  • Be responsible for the Clinical leadership and shift management
  • When required, undertake the duties of Clinical Co-ordinator.
  • Provide strong clinical leadership for all staff, maintaining and enhancing own knowledge by making use of educational opportunities, under the guidance of the Ward Manager. This includes appropriate extensions to the role of the nurse/OT in line with NMC/HCPC and Trust policy.
  • Regularly manage a span of duty.
  • Provide Line Management Supervision and clinical guidance to junior staff.
  • In the absence of the Ward Manager lead a team of clinical staff who will deliver a high quality service to the users accessing the service.
  • In the absence of the Ward Manager and out-of-hours participate in the first level on call rota and accept responsibility for the coordination of designated clinical areas within the Trust.
  • Deputise for the ward manager in their absence.
  • Participate in Staff Development and Review Process.

  • Close working with all members of the Multi-disciplinary Team
  • Undertaking mental health needs assessments
  • Assessment and Management of risk
  • Liaising with other services such as, community mental health team, Hospital at Home Team, Mental Health Liaison Team, and the Acute Trust
  • Effective assessment through SBAR and care planning
  • Delegation and shift management
  • Supervising of junior staff, including students
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Knowledge of operational procedures as well as clinical
