Oaklands Health Centre is seeking to hire an additional Practice Nurse to join its expanding clinical team, which currently includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Paramedic, Specialist Nurses, and Health Care Assistants. The Practice Nurse will be responsible for various aspects of primary care nursing, such as cervical cytology, immunizations, wound care, chronic disease management, and QOF requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing patient-centered care and supporting quality indicators under the GMS contract.
  • Conducting chronic disease management and screening, including blood tests and ECGs.
  • Managing wounds, leg ulcers, and performing ear examinations and syringing.
  • Carrying out cervical screening and promoting breast awareness.
  • Administering adult and pediatric vaccinations and providing travel health care.
  • Offering lifestyle advice and recognizing signs of abuse or vulnerable situations.
  • Ensuring adherence to current evidence-based practices and supporting Health Care Assistants.

Knowledge of GMS contracts and quality frameworks is essential for this role. The successful candidate will contribute to improving care standards and addressing the population's needs.
