The Welsh Blood Service is offering a part-time, fixed-term Associate Practitioner position in their Stock Holding Unit in Wrexham. The role involves supporting local hospitals by providing blood and blood products 24/7. Candidates should hold a minimum HNC/HND qualification in a relevant science discipline or possess equivalent skills. The position requires flexibility in shift patterns, participation in a 24/7 on-call rota, and the ability to respond to emergency requests within 30 minutes. Applicants must have a full UK driving license.

The Associate Practitioner will perform various technical tasks, including the selection and distribution of blood products, ensuring compliance with UK Guidelines for Blood Transfusion and EU regulations. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively within a small team. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, and applicants must seek permission from their current line manager if applying for this secondment position, which lasts for 12 months.
