LIVER TRANSPLANTATION NHS ON-CALL TRANSPLANT
Birmingham Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Fellow in Hepatobiliary & Transplant Surgery for a one-year position starting in January 2025. The role aims to support the specialized Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery Department, requiring applicants to have some experience in liver transplantation. Candidates may come from a paediatric surgical or transplantation background and will be based in the Liver Unit, participating in the on-call rota as part of the Transplant Team.

Responsibilities will differ based on experience, categorized into Tier 1 and Tier 2 roles. Tier 1 duties involve managing inpatients, attending outpatient clinics, and assisting in surgeries, while Tier 2 will focus on supervising patient management and supporting Tier 1 staff, necessitating a more experienced background. The role includes shared on-call duties for various transplant-related emergencies and will also involve opportunities for clinical and academic collaboration with the adult Liver Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
