We are looking for a self motivated, experienced individual with excellent communication, organisational and secretarial skills to support the administration functions within our Early Supported Stroke Discharge Service. The successful candidate must be flexible and adaptable with the ability to prioritise tasks and work calmly under pressure, together with excellent customer service skills.

Hours of work are hrs Monday - Friday (flexible working will be required in future to accommodate a seven day working week).
Main duties of the job
The post Holder will provide Clerical support to the Community Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Team, by carrying out administrative and secretarial duties in line with the day to day running of the service. They will assist in shaping the future delivery of the Service for South Birmingham.
Working closely with the Stroke Service Manager and the ESD Team, the post holder will take lead responsibility for managing the Community RiO system within the team. They will work autonomously, prioritise team workload and take responsibility for assisting and supporting all team members with inputting data.
Provide a comprehensive Administrative service to the Early Supported Discharge Team.
Utilise a range of computer programmes with the ability to draft documents using advanced keyboard skills,including reports, to a high standard.
Arrange/confirm appointments and meetings as required, making appropriate provisions 1.1. booking venues and equipment for patients and staff. Maintain an electronic diary and arrange appointments for the appropriate staff across the service.
Provide a confidential and efficient secretarial service to the appropriate staff across the service being guided by the Trusts policies and procedures and the support of peers and senior staff.
Have a high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, healthcare professionals, senior medical staff and senior managers.
Communicate effectively and sensitively with confidential, contentious and/or complex issues with the ability to exchange sensitive information with fact or empathy; displaying skills of negotiation and persausion where co-operationmay be desired.
