The South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Coding Specialist to join their supportive Clinical Coding team, with the flexibility of remote work or office space available. The ideal candidate will hold the National Clinical Coding Qualification and have experience within a Clinical Coding department in the UK. Responsibilities include coding patient admissions, supervising the coding team’s daily operations, mentoring junior coders, and conducting regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and quality. Strong communication, organisational skills, and expertise in ICD-10 and OPCS4 classifications are essential for this role.

The position is vital for maintaining accurate clinical coding, which impacts NHS funding, decision-making, and quality monitoring. The post-holder will collaborate closely with lead clinicians and the Clinical Coding management team to ensure timely and robust data collection while providing guidance and support to colleagues.
