Band 6: £37,338 to £44,962 a year Per annum, pro rata  PERMANENT 

Part time - 15 hours per week.

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Catholic Chaplain to join the Chaplaincy team at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.

The Catholic Chaplain role for in patients will include sharing responsibility for administering sacramental ministry when requested and dealing with peri-natal deaths and pregnancy loss. Active participation in the ecumenical Chaplaincy on-call rota including overnight is required.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken within this role which includes meeting the needs of Catholic patients, relatives and staff, there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be in full communion with the Catholic Church (i.e. belonging to the Roman or Eastern Catholic Rites) and to be authorised by the Bishop of Hallam, such as a Catholic priest or deacon, or a suitably qualified Catholic religious or lay person. The applicant must be willing to provide ecumenical on-call across the Christian denominations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond to call outs and reach Rotherham Hospital within an hour are essential requirements for the role. Significant experience in pastoral ministry including ministering to the dying and bereaved is essential. Previous experience of working in a health care environment would be advantageous.
