Are you interested in working with individuals with offending histories and the staff supporting them? Do you have an interest in personality disorders? Would you like to work in a psychologically informed, formulation driven service? If so, we are delighted to invite applications for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our team at HMP Holme House's Provision and Progression PIPE. The post holder will be employed by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust and is based at HMP Holme House, Stockton-on-Tees, a category C male prison. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist and in close collaboration with prison staff to support prisoners on the offender personality disorder (OPD) pathway who reside on the PIPE (Psychologically Informed Planned Environment). The post holder will: Have a key role in creating, supporting and maintaining a healthy psychosocial relational environment. Work as part of a team with prisoners and prison staff to ensure the service adheres to the theoretical principles of the PIPE model. Support assessment, formulation, group facilitation, service development, research and the delivery of the core components of the PIPE model. Have access to a wide variety of training opportunities and various formats of clinical supervision. About us PIPEs are specifically designed environments where staff members have additional training to develop an increased psychological understanding of their work. This understanding enables staff to further develop a safe and supportive environment which facilitates an offenders pathway either pre-treatment, through treatment, post-treatment, or upon transition into the community. PIPEs are designed to have a particular focus on the environment in which they operate; actively recognising the importance and quality of relationships and interactions. This will include the opportunity for shared creative, educational and developmental activities in which staff and prisoners jointly participate. The unit at HMP Holme House is a Provision and Progression PIPE which provides additional support to those accessing or those who have completed programmes and interventions while in prison.
