The Theatre Practitioner role in Ortho & Neuro at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in West Derby is seeking a registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Nurse with theatre experience. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the theatre department, serving as an advocate for both patients and families. The practitioner will be responsible for various peri-operative tasks, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while also ensuring adherence to Trust policies, the WHO checklist, and maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Additionally, the practitioner will contribute to the training and assessment of staff, participate in 24-hour theatre service provision, and play a role in monitoring care standards and participating in audits and cost improvement initiatives. The role requires a commitment to professional conduct in accordance with NMC/HCPC standards and a dedication to maintaining a culture of infection control and safety within the theatre environment.
