This role sits within the CMO and Place Directorate. The Directorate holds key statutory and delegated responsibilities for commissioning, contracting and service improvement relating to primary care and community pharmacy provision at system and local level. We are recruiting to the post of Primary Care Business Unit Support within the Primary Care Business Unit.

This role is key in supporting the new, defined business unit across the primary care portfolio and will work across the Business Unit on agreed areas. The role will work closely with those in the Business Unit and across the broader Primary Care Team to support:o efficient and effective processes and policies to support the wider Primary Care portfolio, in particular contracting and planning and operationso increased efficiency in the operating model, reducing duplication and efficiencies at the point of change and beyond, supporting the objectives of the Primary Care portfolio in organisational effectiveness.o specific pieces of work within the Business Unit, for example the annual planning round, payments, budget management, horizon scanning and ownership of a procurement planner, stakeholder communications, resource capacity and planning.o contribute to the delivery of the Team's priorities, business continuity, business plan priorities, and ICS deliverables.
o The role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of an efficient Business Unit to support the success of the broader Primary Care portfolio.o Provide high level support to the Assistant Directors and the Clinical Director: Primary Care as needed e.g. diary management, meeting co-ordination and administration.o Support identified elements across the primary care business unit e.g. payments, signatures (internal, external, core contracting, enhanced services), paperwork e.g. contract variations, keeping accurate records and up to date information on agreed areas.o Support with the annual planning round as relating to primary care - supporting on agreed elements, working closely with Strategy and Change for commissioning intentions, and with Planning, Operations and Improvement for delivery.o Support with stakeholder communications e.g. regular communications to / with practices, ad hoc communications.o Contribution to efficient management of external payments e.g. keeping records.o Support with management of Team processes e.g. supporting timely responses to complaints, updating risk register, contracts and procurement documents.o Contribute to the efficient management of the Primary Care Team's generic email accounts.
