Job Summary: Parent-Infant Psychotherapist at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust in Wembley
The CNWL Parent-Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) in Brent is seeking a Parent-Infant Psychotherapist to join its new multidisciplinary team. The role involves providing psychological assessments and treatments to support infants up to two years old with mental health needs, alongside their mothers (and fathers or co-parents) who may have mental health concerns impacting the parent-infant relationship.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting assessments and delivering specific Parent-Infant psychological interventions to enhance relationships between infants and parents.
  • Engaging in brief parent work, group sessions, consultations, and training for multi-agency colleagues.
  • Contributing to clinical audits and service development initiatives.
  • Participating in training of trainee psychotherapists and other students.
  • Monitoring treatment outcomes and using supervision effectively within the CAMHS framework.
The position requires the ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing individual caseloads. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by senior team members. The service aims to foster supportive and effective relationships to enhance the mental health of both infants and their caregivers.
