We are looking for a pharmacist to join the senior clinical pharmacist and pharmacy technician in the Tameside locality mental health team.
The successful applicant will have a keen interest in mental health clinical pharmacy, sound clinical knowledge, previous experience and excellent interpersonal skills. The post will provide a good basis for a future career in mental health pharmacy.
The post will offer rotational clinical pharmacy experience to the inpatient wards in Tameside, the further development of the clinical pharmacy service to the Tameside borough/ locality and participation in multidisciplinary ward rounds. The post holder will be working alongside outpatient consultants and staff and patients in the non bed-based services to optimise medication.
The post holder will also contribute to the work of the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee, take part in medicines related clinical audit and provide teaching for nursing and medical staff. They will be supported by the Trust's dedicated team of mental health pharmacists and technicians, receive clinical supervision and attend team meetings. The post holder will be expected to occasionally cover the absence of pharmacist colleagues across the Trust's mental health South Division (Stockport / Tameside) and also attend meetings at Trust Headquarters.
There is no requirement for emergency duty, bank holiday or weekend working. The successful applicant will need to have a means of transport to travel around the Trust.
