The role of Clinical Pharmacy Technician (band 4 to 5 progression) at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust in Margate is a fixed-term position covering maternity leave, focused on providing a patient-centered medicines management service in the fast-paced Urgent and Emergency Care environment at Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital. The technician will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patient safety and well-being, engage in teaching clinicians, and execute tasks such as medication history reconciliation, patient counseling on medications, and supporting discharge planning.

The position is open to newly qualified pharmacy technicians and those transitioning from community pharmacy. To advance to band 5, candidates must complete in-house progression requirements, demonstrate specialized knowledge in acute and emergency medicine, and ensure compliance with medication administration protocols. Additional responsibilities include accuracy checking dispensed items, aiding medical staff with medication inquiries, and conducting departmental audits.
