The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an internal applicant for a Band 7 Clinical Lead Practitioner (Theatres - Anaesthetics) to cover a 12-month maternity leave. This position requires a HCPC-registered Operating Department Practitioner or NMC-registered nurse with advanced anaesthetic practice experience or senior ODP status. The successful candidate will lead the anaesthetic team across a complex of twenty theatre suites and four recovery units, focusing on high standards of care, staff development, and patient experience. Responsibilities include staff management, training, policy contribution, governance activities, and maintaining safe staffing levels within budgetary constraints.

The role emphasises strong leadership and collaboration with anaesthetists, requiring exemplary communication skills and decision-making capabilities. The candidate must have recent experience as a band 6 or above anaesthetic practitioner and exhibit a commitment to compliance and performance excellence. The role entails managing theatre specialty operations on a 24-hour basis, ensuring the effective delivery of services to patients.
