The CAMHS Specialist Practitioner role within Lewisham's Children's Wellbeing Service (CWP) at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust focuses on providing early intervention for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The practitioner will deliver evidence-based psychological interventions, support and supervise Children's Wellbeing Practitioners, and manage a small caseload. They will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and play an instrumental role in improving service access and engagement while ensuring high-quality care and clinical outcomes.

Additionally, the position includes responsibilities for clinical risk management, delivering workshops, engaging with service users, and contributing to policy and service development initiatives. The successful candidate is expected to enhance the team’s clinical functioning through innovative practices, oversee the training environment for CAMHS trainees, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in mental health. The role requires adherence to professional standards and participation in ongoing professional development, including the completion of a PG CYP supervisor course at King’s College London.
