Summary
The successful applicant will be a doctor wishing to develop their skills and knowledge of respiratory and general medicine. The successful appointee will join the existing respiratory team, based on the respiratory wards including Respiratory High Care, and supporting the care of respiratory and Gastroenterology/Hepatology in-patients. On-call duties in general medicine will be negotiated with a successful applicant.
The Position
Clinical: ward based duties to include routine review of patients, progressing care, prescribing, requesting and evaluating relevant tests, liaising with all medical and allied health professionals. There will also be opportunities a weekly clinic commitment. Education: there are educational opportunities throughout the working week including weekly respiratory X-ray meeting and educational meetings, general medical grand round and core training.
This post is not accredited as part of a speciality training programme. This post will however provide an opportunity to gain excellent experience in the management of acute and chronic respiratory and general medical patients and to develop your PDP.
This post would give excellent experience prior to an application for higher training in Respiratory or Gastroenterology/Hepatology Medicine. It would also be a great opportunity for a candidate interested in GP training to gain additional skills or a special interest.
