An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Research Nurse to work with our Research & Development Team on a 2-year fixed term basis, with the view to extend.The post holder will be required to work with a range of services across BDCFT (including In-patient and Community Health Services).The Research Nurse works as part of the Research & Development team to support the safe conduct of research in in accordance with the UK Policy Framework for Health & Social Care Research and Good Clinical Practice guidelines and provide assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of trial participants are protected.You will work with the research team to plan, implement, organise and manage concurrent research projects. Develop networks with Multidisciplinary Teams across the Trust and other appropriate local and national organisations and agencies.Also be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the clinical requirements associated with research to ensure optimum delivery of clinical trials.Working under the supervision of Clinical Studies Officer/Senior Research Nurse, you will ensure that all research procedures are conducted according to study protocols and is accountable for the recruitment, data collection and care of research participants with a focus on providing a quality experience.
The post holder will need be organised, motivated and able to prioritise their own workload. Responsibilities will include assisting in the recruitment into, and support of, service users/carers/patients in clinical studies. This will involve supporting other clinicians and managers by helping to identify potential participants, providing information about research governance, research protocols, and carrying out recruitment and follow up assessments as required by the research protocol.
A key part of the role will be to liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team so the successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
