Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is now recruiting for Senior Clinical Advisors in our Emergency (999) Operations Centres based in Wakefield and York with course start dates from January 2025 onwards.

Here at Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) we have hugely exciting developments and opportunities lined up over the next few years and are looking for individuals who are highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to assist with these changes.

The Senior Clinical Advisor is responsible for the assessment of health and clinical needs, utilising professional clinical judgement, supported by decision support software. This requires generalist and specialist skills as a telehealth professional to assess and deliver care to patients.

As a Senior Clinical Advisor you will need to be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work with a variety of clinical specialists to ensure safe clinical processes for patients
  • The ability to make quick safe clinical decisions under pressure and the ability to assess and identify red flag symptoms and conditions and make quick safe clinical decisions under pressure.
  • Undertake referrals to internal and external clinicians

You will provide triage, medication advice, health information and implement care packages to a range of individuals, liaising with other agencies and healthcare providers as necessary.
