Suitable for clinician who remains clinically active* Integral to the Leadership team of the Care Group, alongside Service Director and Nurse Director and Dental Director* To provide leadership and support to Operational, Medical and Nurse leads* To drive forward transformation of Primary and Community Services* Oversee all medical aspects of care group activity* Responsible for professional standards for the Care Group activities* Joint responsibility with Nursing leads for Governance and Patient Safety* Responsibility for clinical departments and teams within Group

The post holder is a key member of the Leadership Team for Primary Care and Communities Care Group alongside the Service Director, Nursing Director and Dental Director. Together they are responsible for the transformation of Primary and Community Services, which covers a diverse range of services (from community services, community hospitals, salaried services, palliative care and end of life, as well as independent contractors). Redesign and delivery will be focused on safe, high quality and efficient patient care, on a once for CTM approach, focusing on equity of access and the deployment of resources in line with clinical need and maximising outcomes for our population. The Medical Director will be professional responsible for and supported by a number of Clinical Directors and will have responsibility for managing Professional Standards across the Primary and Community Services.
The post holder will form part of the Medical Director team for professional support, development and team working with Deputy and Assistant Medical Directors. Professionally responsible in the role to the Deputy Medical Director and operationally responsible to the Care Group Service Director. The post holder has responsibility for collaborating with colleagues across all Care Groups and Corporate Functions to provide high quality wellbeing and care services, taking account of the needs of the whole Cwm Taf Morgannwg population.
