The Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and passionate full-time Ward Clerk for the Woodlands ward, a busy 16-bedded paediatric unit. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and skilled in multitasking to support exceptional care for children and their families. Responsibilities include liaising with patients and families, assisting the multidisciplinary team, arranging discharge plans and follow-up appointments, and acting as a host and receptionist. The role requires maintaining confidentiality, understanding hospital systems, and flexibility to work in various areas of the unit as needed.
Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, particularly a good telephone manner, and a commitment to promoting effective working practices. We are looking for motivated and passionate individual who wants to work as part of the team to help provide exceptional care to a range of children and their families. We have a full time post available for a Band 2 ward clerk
Woodlands ward is a Paediatric 16 bedded ward with an additional clinical assessment unit for general medical and surgical paediatric patients as well as day admissions. The unit can be a busy unit and therefore we are looking for someone who can multi task well and is organised. Please feel free to contact for further detail.
The post holder will:
- Liaise with patients on the ward and their family.
- Have an excellent telephone manner
- Will assist all members of the MDT to perform their roles to the best of their ability.
- Assist in arranging discharge plans / follow up appointments for patients.
- Have an understanding of the hospital systems including PCS
- To act as a host and receptionist to children, their families and visitors
- To demonstrates due diligence whilst maintaining and promoting effective working practices commensurate with the post.
- Maintains confidentiality relating to the welfare and treatment of patients and staff at all times.
- To be flexible to work in different areas within the unit as required
