We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic safeguarding professional to join our friendly and welcoming Corporate Safeguarding Team based at University Hospitals Southampton as a
Maternity Safeguarding Practitioner for 22.5 hours per week.

The potential candidate will have good experience working with families in the antenatal, postnatal and neonatal periods and have an understanding and experience of safeguarding and child protection in this group of families.

About us

The post holder will work as a member of the Safeguarding Team to support the delivery of services to staff involved in the safeguarding of unborn babies, children and families, including supporting liaison between hospital and community services to ensure a safe and appropriate plan of care is made.

You will make strong links with voluntary and statutory agencies to provide support on matters related to safeguarding in the maternity and neonatal settings, including the community and family homes.UHS Maternity Services is a large tertiary provider of the most complex maternity services including high risk maternal and fetal medicine. We are the tertiary unit for complex neonatal care including surgical patients.

We believe in providing opportunities and training for staff to develop including leadership development and academic programmes for those wishing to further extend their potential.
