The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated General Practitioner to serve as the Clinical Director for Urgent Care in Newcastle upon Tyne. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in transforming the urgent and emergency care pathways across various services, including the development of a new Urgent Treatment Centre at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. This position involves collaboration with clinical leaders and operational managers within Acute Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Paediatric Emergency departments to enhance patient access and care delivery.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Clinical Director will manage a clinical caseload of both adults and children within the Urgent Treatment Centres, providing at least two clinical sessions per week. The role requires strong partnership with key stakeholders to ensure effective governance and quality development of primary care services embedded within the emergency care framework. Flexibility is essential to adapt to the dynamic nature of urgent care demands.
