Melrose Surgery in Reading is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Practice Nurse to join their team of two nurses in a dynamic inner-city practice. The role involves providing high-quality clinical care in areas such as chronic disease management, infection prevention, health promotion, and various clinics for both men and women.
The successful candidate will perform tasks including obtaining blood samples, conducting ECGs, managing wounds (including leg ulcers), providing travel health advice and vaccinations, administering child immunisations, and supporting family planning and sexual health services. Additionally, the Practice Nurse will play a key role in assisting the practice management team with clinical policies and procedures, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive healthcare services to the community.

Seeing patients for Long Term conditions, dressings, ECG's, suture removing, wound checks. This list is not exhaustive.
About us
The Practice Nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as helping withinfection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, health promotion, well women and well man clinics, as well as actively supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure. The successful candidate will be able to:
- obtaining blood samples
- electrocardiograms(ECGs)
- minor and complex wound management including leg ulcers
- travel health advice and vaccinations
- child immunisations and advice
- family planning & womens health including cervical smears
- mens health screening
- sexual health services
- smoking cessation
- screening and helping patients to manage long term conditions
