The Band 7 Fetal Medicine Specialist Midwife position at the Royal Free Hospital is a permanent part-time role, requiring two days of work each week within the Screening team. This specialist will coordinate and provide care to women identified as at risk for chromosome and fetal abnormalities through the fetal anomaly screening programme (FASP). Key responsibilities include counseling and supporting parents of unborn fetuses with suspected abnormalities, connecting them to relevant support organisations, and acting as a liaison between the patients, maternity services, and the Fetal Medicine Unit.

Additionally, the post holder will be involved in promoting best practices within midwifery and enhancing service quality for women and their families, adhering to national standards. This role is crucial in ensuring comprehensive care for high-risk pregnancies while supporting the emotional and informational needs of parents during challenging times.
