The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Matron for Antenatal Services to lead and enhance antenatal care across Saint Mary's Hospital in North Manchester and its satellite clinic at Fairfield General. The successful candidate will have a strong background in midwifery, management experience, and extensive knowledge of antenatal services. This role involves overseeing a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring high-quality care for both high and low-risk women, and contributing to the strategic development and improvement of antenatal practices.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Matron will collaborate with other Matrons across additional sites and will be responsible for managing complex situations, influencing change processes, and supporting quality assurance initiatives. Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside a passion for delivering compassionate care. The position also involves participating in an on-call rota and working closely with the Deputy and Head of Midwifery to ensure the delivery of safe and effective services in line with national and local healthcare standards.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
