Job Summary: Haematology Locum Consultant Specialising in Myeloma
Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a committed and motivated Haematology Locum Consultant to develop the Myeloma subspecialty within a dedicated team of 7 consultants in Carmarthen, West Wales. The role involves managing cases of Lymphoma and General Haematology, participating in an on-call rota, and leading 3-4 outpatient clinics weekly.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with generalist consultants and support staff, including Associate Specialists and Clinical Nurse Specialists, to enhance patient care in a rural setting. There is also a commitment to participate in local and Health Board-wide multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and a license to practice, and the position offers 10 sessions per week, including 1 session for supporting professional activities (SPA). The role may evolve based on the candidate's experience and the health board's needs.
Overall, this position is integral to the ongoing transformation of haematology services in the region, with a focus on improving patient care close to home.
