An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Families, Young People, Childrens and Learning Disability and Autism (FYPCLDA) Directorate for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist Specialist in Language in the Childrens Speech & Language Therapy (SALT) team.
The successful candidate will have interest and experience of universal, targeted and specialist approaches in relation to language and language difficulties. They will assist in the development and monitoring of whole school approaches, maintaining effective parent partnership working as part of a balanced system to meet childrens language needs.
We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate and skilled specialist, who brings excellent teamwork and energy for transformation and delivery of service to children, young people with language needs across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The post holder will highly provide specialist clinical practice, supervision, and quality assurance of the competence of the service in supporting language difficulties in children and young people aged 0-19 years. This is a transformational role and the post holder will demonstrate experience and skill in providing training, coaching and development to the wider workforce to support children and young people with language needs.
The successful candidate will provide effective and impactful clinical leadership of the languagewithin the speech and language therapy team within Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland,havingspecialist knowledge and experience in working with children and young people with language difficulties, and act as the expert for the speech and language therapy team and patients.The post holder will be responsible for holding their own specialist caseload and support other members of the team with caseload management.
The post holder will be responsible for expert clinical supervision across the speech and language therapy team, high level communication skills and negotiation are necessary for delivering highly complex clinical information to support both patients and staff, to actively participate and lead in the development of quality improvements for service delivery.
To create and maintain evidence-based, high quality language clinical pathway and to participate in service level conversations and provide clinical specialist insight into service development, as appropriate. To manage complaints related to quality and clinical practice across the speech and language therapy team anddeputise for clinical lead as appropriate.
