We currently have an opportunity available to join our Estates Team as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Craftworker (Builder/Joiner) providing a full range of maintenance services across Trust sites. You will undertake a broad range of joinery maintenance, repair and installation work using hand, power and machine tools as appropriate. The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and maintenance of a range of engineering and building services in the Trust's clinical and non-clinical facilities.
This role is critical to the Estates Department's maintenance support service and is demanding and varied as it covers a range of services. Operating as a mobile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Craftworker (Building/Joiner), you will receive your work on a handheld device from the Estates and Facilities Helpdesk and Team Leader. You will be expected to prioritise your daily workload ensuring you complete the tasks in the given priority. The role will predominately include undertaking statutory and non-statutory planned preventative maintenance (with correct training).
You will undertake multi-skilled works to all Trust properties including working at heights and in adverse weather conditions, within your own competencies. You will be expected to demonstrate all aspects of the joinery discipline together with a flexible and conscientious approach to working. The successful candidate will be based at Duncan Macmillan House but must be willing to work at any of the Trust's sites.
You will be required to interpret work from drawings, instructions and specifications; diagnose faults and carry out necessary repair work. It is essential you have an understanding of other craftsmen's work in relation to their own discipline to provide a consistent service when carrying out both maintenance and minor work schemes.
