The North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust is hiring a full-time, permanent Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker for the Autism Assessment Service in Stoke-on-Trent. The primary responsibilities include providing support for assessments and post-diagnostic care to service users and their families, assisting registered professionals, and handling administrative tasks such as document preparation and phone inquiries. The successful candidate should be a compassionate and enthusiastic professional. Duties also involve effective communication with service users, families, and multi-disciplinary team members, ensuring safety and adherence to Trust policies, and facilitating seamless person-centered care. The Trust emphasises innovation and improvement in mental health services.
We are looking to recruit to a full time, permanent, Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker. This post will support the Autism Assessment Service and the successful candidate will assist the team in delivering timely assessment and evidenced based post-diagnostic support with service users. The successful candidate will also have a role in undertaking some administration duties to support the team.

- To provide targeted support to service users and/or their families.
- To assist Registered Professionals in assessments and post-diagnostic support.
- Providing routine advice on areas of knowledge/expertise, in a manner relevant to the audience and topic area (i.e. service users, and carers,)
- Liaison with partner services and
- Preparation/completion of routine documents, including letters, reports, presentations and forms e.g. photocopying, filing.
- Handling telephone queries including a shared responsibility for reception
- Assisting service users /relatives during incidental

The post holder will undertake the following duties and responsibilities at all times demonstrating the competences assigned to the role detailed in the associated KSF outline:
- Communicates with service users and families, all members of the multi-disciplinary team and with external agencies using a variety of methods including Information
- Regularly reports and effectively communicates the status of the Autism Assessment service users in care records and verbal reports to Registered Health Professional staff members and other members of the multi-disciplinary
- Relates appropriately with service user, carers, colleagues and others at all times maintaining professional boundaries.
- At all times ensures that own actions, support the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of
- Identifies, minimizes and reports risks of danger, harm and abuse to senior
- At all times minimizes risks to self and others by undertaking safe working
- At all times works within agreed and established Trust policy and operational procedures.
- Works with other Trust services to promote seamless service-user person centered care from referral/admission, to transfer and discharge on identified care
