We are currently looking to recruit a monitoring officer working within Facilities for 37.5 hours per week. You will be predominately based at the Alexandra Hospital in Rediitch, however travel to other sites will be required for which travel expnese will be paid in line with Trust Policy.
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out inspections and audits across all three hospital sites in all functioning areas, clinical and non-clinical, of the hospitals.
The inspections will cover checks on all hard and soft facilities management including cleaning, catering, fabric and general up-keep of areas. The post holder will be expected to liaise with ward staff over access to areas and be expected to provide feedback should issues be identified.
The role will involve considerable walking throughout the hospitals, in patient populated areas; and to effectively audit, some bending, stretching and moving of equipment will be required. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate initiative when working individually and cooperation when working as part of the wider team.

To provide support and assist the Facilities Quality & Compliance Manager with monitoring operational performance standards within hard and soft facilities management services.
To carry out audits and inspections on both in-house and private contractors across all three hospital sites ensuring compliance against all legislative and published guidelines, including, but not limited to, the National Standards for Healthcare Cleanliness 2021, the Environment Protection Act 1990 and associated HTMs (i.e. medical gas and waste)
To provide a full administration service, maintenance of records and general administration duties.
Key Duties:
To assist with monitoring the quality of delivery of all in house and contracted facilities services activities within Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust against National Standards and Trust Policies and Procedures, including, but not limited to the National Specifications for Cleanliness, PAS 5748 and the Environment Protection Act 1990 and associated HTMs (i.e. medical gas and waste)
To monitor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and to provide the information needed to develop corrective action plans.
Carry out spot check audits on all services and audit records maintained by in house teams and contractors.
To provide a point of contact for front line service user and staff and take corrective actions at an operational level.
Provide full administration service to monitoring and facilities teams.
General Duties:
Assist with monitoring performance of services in accordance with Service Level Agreements and external contracts. This will include domestic service, portering service, ward kitchen inspections, linen hire service, and minor hotel service contracts.
Ensure monitoring data is recorded and reviewed; and support auditing action taken.
Raise issues of concern with the Facilities Quality & Compliance Manager and support implementation of appropriate action plans.
Develop and maintain good relationships with client, users, contractors, Facilities Services Management and Estates Management
Assist staff within the Facilities Management Team in order that they may be more effective and efficient in the provision of quality services.
Be involved in measuring the outcomes of the existing service delivery and the development of new standards.
Provide support in special projects as required; i.e. waste segregation, recycling and environmental initiatives.
Provide full administration service to this team, upkeep of records, typing of reports, and assist with the preparation of reports, filing, copying etc.
Provide cover to the Facilities administration team as required.
Be familiar with and abide by Trust policies and procedures.
Be able to work flexibly during the normal working week and also at evenings and at weekends in accordance with the needs of the service.
