The Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join their Acute Pain Team as an Acute Pain Clinical Nurse Specialist. This role, primarily based at Morriston Hospital but involving cross-site responsibilities at Singleton and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals, focuses on providing expert advice and support regarding advanced pain management techniques, including Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) and Epidural Analgesia. The successful candidate will monitor and assess postoperative patients, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), and deliver training to ward-based nurses and healthcare professionals on managing complex pain scenarios.

Candidates should possess substantial experience in caring for patients with acute pain management needs, particularly those using PCA and epidural methods. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the capability to practice autonomously and enhance pain management practices, are critical for this position. The role emphasises patient safety, efficient management of pain techniques, and serving as a knowledgeable resource for acute pain management across all acute care sites within the health board.
