Hull University Teaching Hospitals is inviting applications for a Consultant Paediatrician post. This post will provide an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the care of children of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The Trust is seeking to a highly motivated individual who can realise the potential of the role and directly influence both service delivery and the future development plans for the Paediatric services locally.
A key driver is to improve the overall patient experience, and this is focused around providing a high quality, safe, responsive and coordinated service within the local and regional health area. The service is therefore looking to appoint an individual who has the vision, drive and commitment to work flexibly and is passionate about caring for children in Hull and surrounding areas.
The paediatric respiratory team consists of specialist nurses, physiotherapist, pharmacist and dietitians in addition to the medical team and business manager. Specialist MDT clinics run for cystic fibrosis, trachea-oesophageal fistula, primary ciliary dyskinesia (in conjunction with the regional team), neurodisability as well as for asthma and general respiratory conditions. There is a respiratory consultant of the week for advice to the team and the wards. The appointee will contribute to general paediatric outpatient clinics seeing general paediatric referrals and general paediatric follow up from the paediatric inpatient ward. They will also be required to undertake Consultant of the Week and on-call duties covering the General Paediatric Service. On-calls are approximately 1 in 12. The post is for 10 programmed activities and is based at Hull Royal Infirmary.
