MENTAL HEALTH MULTI-DISCIPLINARY NHS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY WEEKEND
The role of Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool involves working full-time in a mental health inpatient setting, specifically on the Newton Ward (PICU) at Clock View Hospital. The OTA will collaborate actively with qualified Occupational Therapists and the Multi-Disciplinary Team to deliver group and individual therapeutic activities aimed at enhancing the wellbeing and independence of service users. Key responsibilities include supporting clients with their daily activities, assisting in the development and implementation of care plans, and participating in assessments using a person-centred approach. The position requires flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of service users.

Applicants should be self-motivated and caring individuals with a keen interest in mental health support. The OTA will engage in a variety of innovative tasks under clinical supervision, contribute to risk assessments, maintain a safe working environment, and ensure effective communication within the team. The role also includes providing feedback on service users' progress and maintaining links with external agencies to facilitate recovery and discharge planning. Supervisory responsibilities for routine work may also be part of the OTA's duties.
