The "Legacy Mentor-Palliative and End of Life Care" role at Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland is designed for an experienced registered healthcare professional who is committed to enhancing the future workforce in palliative care. This fixed-term position is part-time (22.5 hours per week) for two years and focuses on coaching and clinically supervising newly appointed staff, trainees, and students. The mentor will provide both professional development support and pastoral care, emphasizing the importance of wellbeing in the workplace and fostering strong relationships within the community.

As a Legacy Mentor, the individual will play a pivotal role in mentoring newly qualified professionals, supporting practice placements, and collaborating with other support staff to ensure consistent training for learners. Additionally, they will lead health and wellbeing initiatives within the organisation and act as an ambassador for its palliative and end-of-life services, participating in outreach activities to promote these essential services.
