This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader with excellent communication skills to cover maternity leave to enable the continued development of the Acute Oncology Service and move it from project implementation to an operational network.

The post holder will be operationally accountable for the effective management and monitoring of quality standards and ensuring the realisation of regional benefits.

The post will be hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust and based in the Velindre Cancer Centre but with home working and regular travel to the other Health Board sites in the region (Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to maternity cover.

The post holder will be expected to lead the strategic development of AOS while maintaining continuous support and collaboration from multi-professional teams, across the four organisations in South East Wales.

They will support service development, both locally and regionally, and continue the implementation of some aspects of the original AOS business case.

The post holder will need to work closely with digital colleagues to optimise data collection and ensure communication channels between organisations are efficient and effective. Ultimately, they will be responsible for analysing, reporting and auditing regional key performance indicators and outcomes, both qualitative and quantitative.
