The University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Neonatal Senior Staff Nurse in Brighton. This position is ideal for current Band 6 nurses seeking a challenge or Band 5 nurses with specialized qualifications, such as ENB 405 or Neonatal Pathway, who desire career progression. The role involves providing high-quality care to neonates and their families across intensive, high dependency, and special care settings while leading and motivating the nursing team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, communicate effectively, and participate in professional development activities, including mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, and delivering evidence-based neonatal care, advocating for both babies and their parents, and facilitating informed choices regarding care options. The neonatal senior staff nurse will also be responsible for supervising the use of advanced medical equipment, managing discharge planning, and partnering with other health professionals. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate strong clinical judgment in patient transfers and the ability to interpret clinical results, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit while fostering a supportive environment for both staff and families.
