Orchard Court Surgery is seeking a flexible part-time Receptionist/Admin. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication and computer skills and be able to thrive in a busy team environment. Key responsibilities include:

a) Receiving Patients
b) Receiving and recording requests for home visits
c) Assisting patients/other practice members with queries
d) Taking messages and ensuring they are passed on to the relevant member of staff
e) Dealing with patients' messages and the follow-up of answers
f) Answering the telephone and dealing with all queries
g) Making new and follow-up appointments on the computer
h) Receiving and issuing requests for repeat prescriptions and also pxs on internet
i) Filing medical records
j) Scanning of all medical correspondence and attaching to patient's computer notes also attaching electronic discharges to medical records.
k) Use of the computer for repeat prescriptions, appointments, entering data, scanning etc
l) Maintaining records (ensuring that the contents of the records are kept in chronological order, fastened neatly and that the record envelope is kept in good condition
m) Dealing with paperwork completed by the Doctor/Nurse
n) Use of internal e-mail system for messages
o) Ensuring that the reception area is kept tidy and ready for use.
p) Making tea or coffee as appropriate
q) Dealing with all incoming post following incoming mail protocol
r) Making sure that the post is taken on a daily basis.
s) Any other job that is required by either the Office Manager, Deputy Manager or Doctors which they may feel are appropriate to your post.
