We are seeking a motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team as a senior support pharmacist in general medicine. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about patient care and eager to advance their careers in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will need an ability to develop effective working relationships, to challenge and to prioritise your own work as well as the work of the team. Applicants who do not meet the criteria in the person specification relating to diploma status but have at least 12 months of post-registration hospital experience are encouraged to apply and will be appointed to a progressional post under Agenda for Change Band 7 Annex U. Upon completion of the first year of the clinical diploma, applicants will progress to the independent prescribing course.
The successful applicant will become part of a large clinical pharmacy team, working closely with specialist pharmacists, medical practitioners, and nursing team members. Responsibilities include supporting Band 6 pharmacists and clinical pharmacy technicians to enhance patient care and improve hospital stays while maintaining direct patient contact. Developing effective working relationships, challenging processes, and prioritizing both personal and team workloads are essential aspects of this role.
To partake in clinical pharmacy duties within general medicine at QEHB, ensuring core clinical pharmacy activities are undertaken.
To develop effective working relationships, to challenge and to prioritise your own work as well of the work of the team.
To assist in providing a specialist pharmaceutical service to tertiary services including the provision of education and training, procedures, protocols and medicines usage information.
To ensure that through the provision of pharmacy services and advice to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals , there is safe and effective use of medicines.
To provide support the specialist pharmacist in directorate and service reports for general medicine services.
To take full part in clinical/dispensary rota, weekend rota and bank holiday duties
Cross site critical care cover may be required with prior notice.
To take part in the support of pharmacy out-of-hours service (first on-call duties)
