The maternity safeguarding team are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, who can use their initiative to make informed decisions and ability to multitask.
The team provide support, advice and signposting to both patients and staff in relation to adult and child safeguarding concerns, specialising in the pre-birth period and working within the wider integrated safeguarding service to support the undertaking of statutory safeguarding functions.
Support the maternity safeguarding team by undertaking a duty role, supporting in the management of the generic email inbox and telephone contact for advice.
Provide a visible, accessible presence to staff and patients to support where there are safeguarding concerns.
Provide families that have additional vulnerabilities with support, non-clinical advice and information on a range of issues, whilst inpatients. This will include exposure to distressing information eg. domestic abuse and child abuse.
Building an effective and supportive relationship with patients where there are safeguarding concerns, and those who find it difficult to engaging with services
Support the Safeguarding service in the delivery of mandatory and bespoke safeguarding training sessions and / or learning from experience.
Work in collaboration with colleagues in the Integrated Safeguarding Service including supporting cover with advice calls and referrals during wider team leave and absence
