The County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a fully qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician to join their Cellular Pathology team at Darlington Memorial Hospital, with responsibilities that may require rotating to the University Hospital North Durham. The successful candidate will engage in post-mortem work, receipt and registration of deceased patients, preparation for viewings and identifications, and will manage laboratory computer systems along with inventory of reagents and equipment. Participation in an on-call rota is also part of the role.

Ideal applicants will possess strong communication, organisational, and manual dexterity skills, with attention to detail and a keen interest in pathology. The role necessitates computer literacy and the ability to handle sensitive materials, all while adhering to health and safety protocols. Responsibilities may include supervising and training junior staff. Previous NHS mortuary experience is desirable, along with the ability to maintain focus during demanding tasks.
